The streets were alive with the hum of evening traffic, the golden hues of sunset painting the pavement in warm tones. You adjusted your grip on the handlebars, your heart already pounding in anticipation. Beside you, Mahon Jo stretched lazily, his usual smirk playing on his lips.

"Another race?" he teased, rolling his bike closer. "You never learn, do you?"

You shot him a glare, but there was no real heat behind it. "Shut up. Today’s the day I finally beat you."

Mahon chuckled, shaking his head. "Keep dreaming."

But there was something different about the way he looked at you today : something softer, less taunting. You didn’t have time to think of it though, because the moment your eyes met, the two of you took off without another word.

The wind roared in your ears as you pedaled furiously, your muscles burning. Mahon was always faster, always stronger, but you refused to let him pull ahead this time. You matched his speed, weaving through the narrow alleys and sharp turns with practiced ease.

And then—something strange happened.

As you neared the final stretch, Mahon’s usual burst of speed never came. Instead, he stayed just half a bike length behind you, his usual competitive fire dimmed. You crossed the finish line first, skidding to a stop as you turned to face him, chest heaving.

"Did you just… let me win?"

Mahon slowed to a stop beside you, his expression unreadable for a moment before he grinned. "Maybe."

You narrowed your eyes. "Why?"

He shrugged, looking away as if suddenly interested in the pavement. "Maybe I just wanted to see you smile when you won for once."

Your breath caught in your throat.

Later that evening, the two of you sat on the curb outside a convenience store, sharing a bag of chips as the streetlights flickered on. The air between you was different ; lighter, charged with something unspoken.

"So," you started, nudging his shoulder, "you’re admitting I’m faster than you now?"

Mahon snorted. "In your dreams."

"Then why’d you let me win?"

He hesitated, his fingers tapping restlessly against his knee. For the first time since you’d known him, Mahon looked nervous.

"Because," he finally muttered, "I like you."

The words hung in the air between you, heavy and real. You blinked, your pulse skyrocketing.

"You… what?"

Mahon groaned, running a hand through his hair. "Don’t make me say it again."

You couldn’t help the grin that spread across your face. "Say it one more time. Just to be sure."

He turned to look at you then, his dark eyes serious. "I like you. A lot. And I didn’t want to see you frustrated after losing to me again, so… I let you win."

Your heart swelled. "So what you’re saying is… you’re whipped ?"

Mahon groaned again, but he was smiling. "Shut up."

You laughed while leaning into him. "Guess this means I don’t have to race you anymore to get your attention, huh?"

He wrapped an arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer. "You’re still racing me. But next time? I won’t go easy on you."

You smirked. "Good. Because I wouldn’t want you to."

And as the city buzzed around you, you realized winning the race hadn’t been the only victory of this day.

it was one of those days where everything felt a bit off.

you were curled up on the couch, wrapped in a blanket, nursing a heating pad on your lower abdomen. the cramps were relentless, but your boyfriend had insisted on keeping you company.

he sat next to you, pretending to be engrossed in the movie playing on the tv, but you could tell by the way he kept glancing at you that he was far more interested in how you were feeling.

“how are you holding up, babe?” he asked, reaching over to brush a strand of hair from your face.

“surviving,” you sighed, leaning into his touch. “just the usual.”

he flashed a grin, the kind that was equal parts cocky and endearing. “you know, if there’s anything i can do to make you feel better…”

you gave him a side-eye. “you’ve already brought me snacks, set up a marathon of my favorite shows, and massaged my back. you’re doing more than enough.”

but he wasn’t satisfied. he scooted closer to you, wrapping his arms around your waist. before you could protest, he pulled you into his lap, your back pressed against his chest. “what are you —”

you didn’t get to finish your sentence. he buried his face in your hair, planting soft kisses along the curve of your neck. you couldn’t help but melt a little at the warmth of his embrace. he was so good at this — making you feel loved and cherished, even when you felt like absolute crap.

“who’s my little ketchup bottle, hmm?” he murmured against your skin, his voice dripping with playful mischief. you froze for a second before bursting into laughter. “what did you just call me?”

he grinned wider, tightening his arms around you. “you heard me. my little ketchup bottle.” his fingers began to tickle your sides, and you squirmed, trying to break free from his grip, but he was too strong.

“babe, stooop! i’m gonna —”

but he didn’t stop. he just kept tickling you, his laughter mingling with yours, his lips brushing over your ear as he repeated the silly nickname. “who is it? who’s my little ketchup bottle?”

you were laughing so hard tears were starting to form in your eyes. you tried to wriggle out of his hold, but he only squeezed you tighter. it was almost too much — the tickling, the ridiculous nickname, the warmth of his body wrapped around yours. and then, suddenly, you felt it.

the sensation was unmistakable. you froze, mid-laugh, your entire body going stiff.

“let me go,” you said, your voice suddenly serious.

he, still grinning, didn’t catch on at first. “what’s wrong, babe? can’t handle being my ketchup bottle?”

“i’m serious. let me go. now.”

his grip loosened immediately, the playful light in his eyes fading as he registered your tone. “why? what’s wrong?”

you hesitated, feeling the panic rise in your chest. but there was no point in sugarcoating it. “i think i just gave birth.”

his eyes went wide, all the color draining from his face. “what?!”

you rolled your eyes at his dramatics, though you couldn’t help the nervous laugh that escaped you. “not like that. i mean… one of my organs is dying right now, if you forget babe, and a big clot of it just… came out.”

it took a second for your words to sink in, but when they did, his face turned a pale shade of green. “oh… oh!”

you scrambled out of his lap, making a beeline for the bathroom. he jumped up, hovering nervously by the door. “do you need help? should i call someone? do i need to —?”

“no!” you called out, already halfway down the hallway. “i just need to… handle this.”

as you reached the bathroom, you heard him muttering something under his breath, “never calling her a ketchup bottle again.”

you couldn’t help but smile, despite the discomfort. he might be a little over the top sometimes, but he was yours.

and that made everything just a little bit better.

A/N: I wrote the relationships kind of dubious(except for Majon's!!) so it's up to you how you wanna interpret it! I hope that's okay!!

We don't know anything about Hajun's school life, but I imagine that he was a below average student. His best subject would've been PE for SURE!! And considering that we see him getting easily distracted and sleepy often, I like to imagine that's what he was like in school!

ANYWAYS!! Him with a studious s/o!! He LOVE watching you STUDY!! Not to be like creepy or anything, he just loves your focused expression!

Although he's not the best at studying himself, he's interested to see how YOU study and would be more than happy to help you in any way he can.

He's not sure what motivates you to study so hard, but he really doesn't mind, as long as you're not overworking yourself, he's more than happy to always support you!

He might not be much help when it comes to you actually studying, but he is S+ rank when it comes to taking care of you while you study!

This is a bit hard to write because we don't really know too much about Oliver, but Oliver gives smart student who didn't care enough to try in school :( he probably just had other stuff on his mind that he considered more important honestly. He feels refreshed when he sees you studying so hard, a part of him is relieved to see you having your life together. it kinda makes him want to try harder too.

I think seeing you study would encourage him to study more, and he actually enjoys it!! The company he's surrounded by definitely helps him enjoy it <3

Speaking of company though, of course Clover is joining in here and there, you get along so well with both the siblings and it makes Oliver's heart melt. He really enjoys studying with the both of you. Clover doesn't join in too often though cause she doesn't wanna third wheel

Oliver doesn't really stare at you, but he sneaks glances here and there. He doesn't want to get caught but guh, it's just hard for him to NOT look at you and admire your beauty, but he doesn't want to be creepy with it either. He also does get absorbed in actually studying though too, so that helps!

^As I said, Oliver gets a little too absorbed in studying sometimes, so breaks with him don't actually happen super often. The two of you are just on that roll and scared to stop.

Both of your bodies are so sore by the end. Oliver offers to massage you and then makes sure you eat and drink. He feels a little guilty for not regulating your study time, so next time he promises to himself to be more mindful and take more breaks. He doesn't want to see you in pain or have you not taking care of yourself.

Minu's smart, idc what anyone else says. He is SO smart and I feel like not many people talk about it. He wasn't the leader of hummingbird for nothing. Plus LOOK AT HIM!!! Bro is getting intel on league of street and Sangho!!

He loves quality time, so he's arranging study dates for sure! He loves seeing you study so hard, something about it reminds him of Jay though, which worries him slightly.

Minu might try to find out why you study so much through subtly, like having the study dates at your place to see if your parents are strict like Jay's. If he finds nothing and it's just you liking to study, he's relieved.

He gets bored so easily, you two are taking like 27,000 breaks LOL he's so whiny when it comes to it too. It gets to a point where he ends up taking the breaks alone because you NEED to study. And then he gets surprised when you finish and shrugs saying the work can be done later.

^this is at least before the accident! I feel like after the accident he'd be much more eager to actually be able to study and work, like he missed doing it so much, it was a normalcy in his life!

Ah yes, golden boy Owen Knight. Of course he's smart, bros good at literally everything I'm convinced.

STUDY DATES!! He's 100% using both your drive to study and his natural smarts to plan study dates. He also gets to show off how smart he is and so HOPEFULLY you'll rely on him more!

Soooo Owen gets so distracted just staring at you while you study. AND YES!! Unlike the others, it's creepy when he does it!! But he's not here to actually study the material he already knows, he's here to study every face you make and every single curve on your face. Is he counting every pore you have, yes, yes he is.

When he shows off his smarts, he was not expecting you to get so competitive, but he does like the way you get motivated and try harder.

On a sweeter note, Owen would be really good at taking care of you while you study. He makes sure you takes breaks and overall whenever you study with him, it's the least painful studying experience you've ever had. He's making sure your posture is good, massaging you, getting you food and water.

On another note, depending on where you're from, you could help Owen study your language, he'd love to learn for you and its like the ONE thing he doesn't know. Please hold it over his head and rub it in his face, show off just like how he was doing earlier to get your revenge LMAOO

Considering how Mahon was raised, I think it's obvious he's pretty smart. But it also felt suffocating to him and wasn't what he wanted

Initially upon seeing you study so much and try so hard, he's worried that you're being raised like he was, that you feel suffocated and trapped

He had never spoken to you before, but seeing how hard you were trying drew him to you. For some reason he just needed to make sure that was something you wanted to do.

He feels so relieved if studying is just something you enjoy, he supports you wholeheartedly. Yeah you two end up becoming friends because of him reaching out to you and making sure you're happy.

Much like the majority on this list, I think Mahon enjoys watching you study, seeing you be so passionate about it, working hard. It motivates him to try even harder during his training too!

Considering Mahon is smart, he could help you study with anything you needed, he'll also double check your work if it's something you want.

A maniac laugh filled the room as I blew the smoke from my vape. I threw a bored look to Wooin as I rode my bike backwards. Joker kept attacking the punching bag as if it’s going to kill him. And Vinny was sitting across the room with a deadly stare.

“You? Going to Sunny High School? You must be an idiot for saying that in front of me.” Wooin said as he put his both hands on his pockets.

“Don’t worry, it’s not like I’m quitting for those douchebags who are better than you.” I said as blew the smoke from the side of his face. The smirk vanished from his face as he took a step closer to me, cornering me with his predatory presence.

“Do you take this for a joke? Let me remind you, those losers will meet their fate just the same as Mahon Jo did.” he said as he glared at me. My lips parted as I looked at Vinny who’s now emotionless or looked angry. He always looks like that so I can’t tell if he’s affected or what.

“Good, then let me help them to prevent that from happening.” I tapped his shoulder. His whole body still as he filled in rage. I knew the moment I turned my back away from him, he would grab my hair tightly. It’s not like an attack, his grip is not that hard but it’s enough to make me stop from walking.

Vinny was alarmed therefore he stood up as he put his hands on his pockets. On the other hand, Joker looked disturbed from his usual routine. His eyes went to us, watching as if we were entertaining.

“Hey, knock it off.” Vinny shouted at us but Wooin ignored him.

“If you go to them, I swear I’ll destroy everything that you worked for. This is not a children’s play, Yeshina. The moment you join here, your body and soul will be here until you die, you get it?” Wooin whispered those words as he watched my eyes carefully.

I scoffed as I slapped his hand away. I knew better from punching him because that will just make him more angry and our dispute will not end, and I’m sick of it.

“Wow, can’t wait for that, dipshit. Can you do me a favor? Stop interfering with my life, you obsessed asshole.” I remarked as I glared at him before I threw his vape that I’ve been using. It hit his chest but he managed to catch it fast.

When I was walking away from that room, I heard his laugh in disbelief. As if he couldn’t believe that I would dare to say those things to him. Serves him right. He’s always been an obsessive shit who likes to interfere with everything, when I mean everything, this includes my social life, my romantic relationships, or let’s say my whole interaction with a human being!

We grew up together, but he’s never been a friend or bestfriend. The tension between us grew stronger as we grew up. I knew he was just a rich nerd but who would know that he’s just a dickhead who is also a drug dealer. I couldn’t stay away from him, not only because I grew up with him. Because of that damn vow that I promised to him that he still holds against me every time I threaten to leave him.

We were great friends back then, sure. But it’s all gone when he chose them over me. That illegal business he has.

“How long are you going to stay like that?” I was surprised to see Vinny outside. He was leaning against his bike .

“What do you mean?” I asked as I mounted my bike.

“You know that asshole will never stop even if death pulls you two apart. Heck, even in hell he would still follow you and chain you.” Vinny said as he typed something on his phone.

I scoffed.

“Where is this anger coming from? Past issues? Or to be specific, our past issue?” I teased him. He glared at me as he turned his back away from me.

“Our next match is near, don’t be late in training later.” he said as he started to walk away.

“Well, no words for your former friends since I’m on my way to see them?” I shouted as I wore my helmet. He was stopped from walking as he tilted his head on his side. I bet his red eye was filled with fury by now.

“Just get lost.” he spouted before he left me. I just chuckled.

When I arrived at the school, many students were scattered around. Some of them were looking at me as they whispered gossip about me with each other. I rolled my eyes as I ran my fingers through my ginger hair.

“Shit, another foreign girl in our school?!”

“This must be my lucky day!”

“I’ll ask her out, watch me later.”

My eyes went to the bleachers and I saw a group of familiar faces. It’s Jay jo, Dom, and the rookie of the Hummingbird. I heard Shelly was in the states to get her visa. That means Jay jo is all alone right now. But the thing is, I also heard that Shelly chose to leave Korea because there are mixed signals happening between her and Jay jo. I don’t know if they’re still in a relationship or just have a misunderstanding.

“Am I just hallucinating or I’m really seeing Yeshina with both eyes?” I heard Dom’s voice. He squeezed his eyes to get a better look. I grinned as I waved my hand.

My heart stopped from beating when I watched how Jay Jo turned his head from the book towards me. He shifted his attention to me as his poker face was watching me the whole time. His lips pursed as his eyes came back to the book he’s reading, he ignored my presence like I’m a disturbance or something.

“Hi, I’m going to study here for good.” I said with a smile. Dom’s lips were parted as he shared a meaningful look with Jay.

“You will study here?” Dom asked again.

“Exactly what I said.” I scoffed. He continued to talk but I was already heading towards Jay. I sat down on the bleachers while he was still giving me the cold shoulder. I met them because I helped them through the match, and we got really along. Well except for Shelly of course, she’s still mad at me for being a bother.

I looked over Jay jo and caught a glimpse of the written text on the book. Physics. What’s with nerds and their obsession with numbers?

“Being an academic achiever and cyclist at the same time must be exhausting.” I whispered. He just looked at me before he proceeded to read again.

“Don’t worry, I won’t tease you for being like that because I’m an academic achiever too and a cyclist at the same time.” I said and that caught his attention.

“Does… your family also force you to be like that?” he asked as if he was remembering something. I shrugged as I stared at the book.

“From where I came from, being an academic achiever is a must. Of course, my parents would pressure me like always. I couldn’t do anything about it because I felt satisfied with being an academic achiever too. I feel like my life would be a waste if I didn’t get an honor.” I said.

“Hmm…” he just hummed.

“Though I’m not good with numbers. Hell, I despise them. I’m such a slow poke when it comes to formulas. However, I’m good with words, essays, and english. I’m excellent with that by the way.”

“I see…” he said. I just nodded my head.

“Let’s race, compete against each other. I haven’t raced against you. If you win, I’ll do all your English essays, but if I win, you have to tutor me with physics.” I said as I stood up.

“Huh?” Dom asked, confused with all commotion.

“Shit! This can’t be, Yeshina Blair is competing against senior Jay jo?!” The freshmen screamed and they caught everyone’s attention.

Jay Jo just threw me a bored look as he flipped the pages of his damn book.

“This moron can’t even take me seriously.” I grabbed my hair in frustration.

“I don’t need someone to do my school work.” he just said, ignoring me totally.

“Are you taking it easy because I’m a girl or my crew is not known unlike yours?” I said as I put my hands on my hips. It’s not like I’m looking forward to telling them which crew I’m part in though.

Actually, I haven’t been in a match. Only once or twice in early matches. Wooin doesn’t like exposing me to the public because he treats all of this as a game. A game where all predators are wandering around and prey like me can be caught within a second, he says.

Jay Jo froze about what he’s been doing. He looked at me with a poker face as he sighed. He closed the book with his right hand before he stood up in front of me. I had to look up because he was too tall for me.

“What? Which part am I right? Is it because I’m a girl or my crew wasn’t pathetically famous like yours?” I said to provoke him.

“Pathetic? Who are you calling pathetic, Yeshina? Damn, is that what everyone thinks about us?” Dom said in an exaggerated tone as if he was in pain.

“Then prepare your pen because you have a lot of things to write.” Jay Jo said in a deep tone, he sounds so confident that it almost scared me. I just laughed maniacally.

We both went to our bikes. I mounted my bike as I locked my helmet while he did the same thing with smooth movement. His emotionless face and eyes were in front, didn’t even bother to look at me. I smirked as I gripped tightly with my bar.

“What’s happening?”

“It looks like that pretty foreign girl challenged Jay jo!”

“She’s so hot!”

“Do you think I will have a chance with her?”

“Not in hell, dork."

“Why did Jay Jo get to pull so many beautiful women? I just don’t understand.”

“Maybe because you’re not smart like him.”

“You moron!”

“This is crazy! Should I call June? He would like to watch this.” Dom said as he grabbed his phone.

“Hey, Jay. Did I also mention that the real bet was you have to break up with Shelly if you lose?” I said emotionlessly. He was stilled, he looked at me with an unexplainable emotion. I don’t know if it’s irritation or anger.

He remained silent but I can tell that the tension between us grew stronger. I grinned like a devil, a habit that I adapted from Wooin.

Now the game begins.

They all know that I was just an average cyclist, they have no idea where I came from.

“Alright, remember this is just a friendly match, Jay okay? No need to push harder–"

“Just go on with it.” Jay Jo’s cold voice startled Dom.
